Not quite summer ft Smock Dress

Spring time is here which means it won't be long before my favourite season arrives (summer).

For me spring symbolises new beginnings and another chance at life, almost like it casts away dark times away and brings the promise of joy and happiness. Perhaps because we celebrate Easter during this season; for 40 days we followed Christ from the beginning of his journey right to the time of his crucifixion which is a constant reminder of God's unconditional love for us because he gave up his only son for our salvation. "In dying he destroyed our death and in rising he restored our life"- this sums it up perfectly and after the sorrow of his crucifixion we are able to rejoice in his resurrection because death no longer has a hold over us and we are able to look forward to happiness and joy in the world to come.

Speaking of lent, this year I gave up Netflix- it was much needed because I over binged on various shows to the point where I wasn't even enjoying the shows, it just became a habit...I HAD to have a show playing whilst doing any task. That's when I realised that I had a problem and one that needed solving asap, I needed to learn a thing or two about self control. Even after lent was over, it's not like I was waiting till midnight to re-download the app. Netflix is cool and everything but when you start to prioritize it over other more important things, then one needs to re-evaluate things. I've got the app back now and I can see that Netflix has been busy since I was away, most of my fav shows have new seasons and some really cool movies have also been added but whilst it's exciting that I have many shows to watch now, if I go back to how I was prior to lent then the whole "fast" would have been for nothing. Let me know in the comments what your current fave shows are (mine are; the get down, riverdale and izombie and many more) and if there are any movies you would recommend.

For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, I would 100% recommend 13 reasons why....I found it to be thought provoking and it kinda makes you reflect on yourself and how you treat/treated others (is it good? bad? could be better?). It just shows you that you never really know what is going on in another person's life so it is important not to assume anything or judge them and it also important to be kind, loving and understanding  (as children of God, we are called to love our neighbour).
So, to anyone who has ever been hurt by me in any way, from the bottom of my heart I am sorry. This might sound weird but to anyone who is in need of a friend or someone to talk to, I'm here. You might know not know me or have never met me but feel free to message me (on any of my social media) if you are feeling low or if you just wanna have a chat xx

I'm in love with this smock dress, it gives me serious 90s vibes (especially when paired with dr martens and a leather jacket or waist coat). I was going for a cute and simple look so this dress was perfect and I paired it with my red velvet mary jane flats for a splash of colour. I'm also loving my hair in this! Its been 2 years since I started my natural hair journey and I'm so happy with the growth so far. I'm especially happy my edges have returned because they had been snatched for too long (from tight braids) but my protective styles and castor oil have worked wonders on my hair.
I'm so tempted to dye it in the summer so that my twist outs can be extra poppin'...any suggestions?

Until next time, take care and God bless xx

P.S there are so many reasons why life is worth living for. No matter what you might be going through just remember that it does get better and God loves you very much!
